Bookmark Jumper is a comfortable bookmark manager for MS Word. Rather than using the built in bookmark manager in Word, this program provides simpler ways of managing bookmarks and navigating through them.
Pros: Using bookmarks in any document of more than a few pages length is very useful. Book-marking helps one to navigate the document quickly for editing. Built in facilities in Word is interactive in nature and operates through dialog boxes. This can become quite an overhead when the document is long. Bookmark Jumper provides a simple alternative that is like the keyboard shortcuts one resorts to in many situations.
Simply typing a name, when the cursor is at the place you need a bookmark, while pressing down shift & control creates a bookmark of that name. To jump to a bookmark once they have been created is simply a matter of choosing the same from the list-box on the Word toolbar created by this application.
Pressing control and shift and a number n takes you to the n-th. Bookmark. Even more simply use to the arrow keys to go back and forth over the bookmarks. These strategies certainly cut down on the time compared to the classic Microsoft way of managing bookmarks.
User interaction is really very simple. The application adds a BMJ menu and the bookmark list-box. BMJ menu has just two items a “settings” choice and a “about” option.
Cons: Nothing adverse noticed. Only nagging question is how useful is the application in regular use! If one uses bookmarks heavily, this application certainly saves on quite a bit of bother.
Overall: The application delivers the goods on the specific area it addresses. Overall a 4 star performance certainly.
